What Needs Auto Reconditioning
Dull, Swirled, or Scratched Paint
Your vehicle may need reconditioning if the paint has lost clarity or shows swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, or a cloudy appearance. These are signs that the clear coat needs restoration, not just cleaning.
Rough or Contaminated Surface
If your paint feels rough to the touch, has bonded contaminants, overspray, water spots, or heavy mineral deposits, reconditioning is required to restore smoothness and shine before any protective treatment.
Prepping for Ceramic or Graphene Coatings
Professional coatings cannot bond to dull, oxidized, or damaged paint. Reconditioning is required to correct defects and create a flawless surface that ensures maximum gloss and long-term coating performance.
PAINT CORRECTION
Select Reconditioning services, professional compounding, and polishing, will bring clarity to your paint’s finish.

Ceramic Coating Prep
Recommended Before Applying R1 Coatings
Reconditioning is required to ensure proper bonding and maximum gloss before applying any long-term ceramic or graphene coating. Without correcting surface defects first, coatings cannot adhere evenly or deliver their full durability.
Polishing and paint correction are two different processes:
-
Polishing is included in our reconditioning packages and is designed to refine the surface, reduce light swirls, and improve overall shine. It enhances gloss but does not remove deeper defects.
-
Paint Correction targets deeper imperfections caused by environmental fallout, oxidation, scratches, water spots, and age. This process often requires multiple stages of compounding and polishing to safely level the clear coat and achieve the highest possible clarity and depth. We include a light corrective process in our Gold and Platinum reconditioning packages, which is our signature process.
The level of correction needed will vary based on the condition of your paint, defect type, and desired final result.
